Bayside Pier 11: Enjoy Laid-Back Airdrie Living!

Q: Right off the top – what is the most outstanding feature of the community? A: Over 8kms of walking trails interwoven around the communities canal system is popular amongst current homeowners living in the Bayside area. Also, Nose Creek Elementary School will be your next-door neighbour in Bayside Pier 11– ideal for families with young kids who are just starting elementary or couples planing for the near future.
Q: What builders are in the community and what are they building? A: Genesis will be the only builder in the Pier 11 neighbourhood. We are currently offering a variety of laned homes and will soon be releasing a beautiful collection of front attached homes (which will include a few bungalow plans)! We have something for everyone.
Q: What are the prices of the homes (by type)? A: Our laned homes start from $374,000 (Arabella model). Genesis will only be selling 22 of these homes at this starting from price in 2014.
Q: What makes the community’s location appealing? A: Pier 11 is a quiet community away from major roads and train tracks. It has a quiet laid-back feel to it. People enjoy being able to walk their children to school. Nearby playgrounds, walking paths and canals encourage active lifestyles and provide the perfect setting to spend time with your family after a long day at work. We will have several walk-out lots with backyards that face West, directly onto the water.
Q: What phase is being built now – is there anything that makes it different than previous phases? (special amenities, types of homes, etc.). A: We have focused on creating best in class homes by incorporating smart, functional design, coupled with innovative features and thoughtful standard finishes. A great example of this would be how we incorporated NEST thermostats, LED pot lights and natural gas hot water tanks as a means of reducing the overall operating cost of the home.
Q: Let’s talk about the amenities – are there schools now or coming soon? A: There are eight total, in-district schools (Elementary, Middle, High) in close proximity to Pier 11. Nose Creek Elementary is adjacent to the neighbourhood and there are French and Christian schools just a short distance away. Other amenities include Genesis Place– a gleaming, new recreation facility that will suit athletes of all ages; Nose Creek Park – a 40 acre park, featuring natural trails, trout-stocked pond, amphitheater, and fire pits; Woodside Golf Course – a beautiful 18-hole course, complete with driving range; Chinook Winds Regional Park – a great spot for the family on the weekend – spray park, skateboard ramps and toboggan hill in the Winter; Iron Horse Park – visitors can ride a fully functioning, one-eighth scale version of a diesel locomotive, through a winding, 1.6KM loop; and finally the Airdrie Edge Gymnastics Club – a 24,000 square-foot, custom built facility within Genesis place.
Q: What’s close in terms of shopping? A: There is a new shopping area being built on the corner of Yankee Valley Blvd. and 8th street (adjacent to the neighbourhood). Pier 11 families are able to easily walk to local coffee shops, drug stores, the bank and convenience stores!
Q: Are there retail/commercial operations in the community? A: Not directly in Pier 11 but nearby.
Q: What about access in and out? Transit? A: No direct transit into Bayside Pier 11 as of yet. The closest stop is nearby on Bayside Dr.
Q: Anything else you would like to add? A: It is our goal to always offer our customers the best homes in the greatest communities, while still keeping prices accessible.
