How to spend September long weekend with the family

With September right around the corner, we are almost ready to bid summer farewell. And what a summer it has been! However, there is time for one last hurrah before school starts and you settle back into your work routine. Labour Day weekend is always known for many things: backyard barbecues, football games, hiking in the mountain or one last camping trip before fall hits. If you are staying in the city this weekend, there is no shortage of events for you to check out. Here are some of our personal recommendations:

Relax at the Rodeo

September 1–3, 2018

Enjoy a weekend filled with bulls, beer and babes at the 52ndAnnual Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo. This three-day event is considered to be one of the toughest Amateur Rodeos in Canada, so you are guaranteed a good show! Many of the riders participate in rodeos across the continent, including the Calgary Stampede. Don’t forget about the live music, food trucks and rodeo games that come along with the festival – a must-see and -do!
