Spread Joy This Holiday Season
Tis the season for getting cozy at home, spending time with loved ones and giving back to the community. As another year comes to a close, we recognize the challenges and obstacles that people have faced over the last year and what better way to spread holiday cheer than by helping out those in need. At Genesis, giving back to our community has always been important but this year, more than ever, we want to show support for the people that need it most within our communities.
There is no better time than right now to come together as a strong community and donate to organizations that are supporting Albertans during times of need. Did you know 70% of food is donated during the holiday months? This winter, thousands of Albertans will rely on charitable donations and the support of organizations like the Calgary and Airdrie Foodbanks, The Veterans Foodbank and the Women In Need Society, to prosper.
A strong community is founded on stepping up when people around you are in need of support. That’s why from now until December 31st, we will be making a $1,000 donation for every townhome and a $2,500 donation for every single-family home sold.
The charities that you can choose to donate to have been strong leaders in the community and have made a difference to Albertans. The four charities are all equally amazing and will help support Albertans in need this season.
The Airdrie Food Bank
Is able to provide vital services and programs to the community because of the support of their community and partners. Last year, they supported over 32 local agencies with food.
The Calgary Food Bank
The CFB’s vision is a hungry-free community. They are the city’s main charitable food hub and the first line of support for anyone facing a food emergency.
The Veterans Association Food Bank
Provides assistance to those that were willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms and rights. Since opening in 2018, they’ve been able to provide food and support to over 495 Veterans and Veterans families.
WINS Women in Need Society
Is a Calgary based shopping alternative investing in the social wellbeing of community. Operating five destination thrift stores and five Family Resource Centres, they help vulnerable women and their families live better lives.
