The northwest community of Evanston/EvansRidge is Calgary’s fastest-growing

The results of the 2015 Calgary census are in, and the northwest community of Evanston is the fastest-growing neighbourhood in the city. Overall, Calgary’s population grew by 2.99% in the past year, bringing our total to 1,230,915 residents.

There were nine communities that welcomed 1,000 or more residents in the past year, all of which are Calgary suburbs: Evanston, Mahogany, Auburn Bay, Cranston, Copperfield, Saddle Ridge, Nolan Hill, Redstone and Skyview Ranch. If you’re a little unfamiliar with Calgary’s fastest-growing community, here’s some background.

Evanston is situated in the city’s northwest, bordered by Stoney Trail. This community welcomed over 2,800 new residents this past year. With ample green space and playgrounds, quick access to shopping and amenities, it’s easy to see why so many Calgarians are flocking to Evanston.

Situated atop Evanston is the master-planned community of EvansRidge, in its final phase of development, a community Genesis is proud to be building in. EvansRidge is a community full of rustic charm, but still minutes away from urban amenities so homeowners there can enjoy a relaxing lifestyle, with the city buzz they sometimes crave.

There are lots of things to love about living in EvansRidge, like some of our favourite community spots (including the Symon’s Valley Farmers Market). Even more exciting, Evanston is welcoming two new schools in 2016, a Catholic elementary-middle school and a public elementary school.

Aside from the great outdoor oasis at your doorstep in EvansRidge, there’s a ton of other amenities in this community too like shopping, schools, and fitness centres. A map with community amenities can be found online here. Whether estate home, starter or something between, there’s plenty of great homes available in EvansRidge, and this current phase is the last in EvansRidge ever.

Genesis Builders has 22 front garage homes available, starting in the $480′s, and you can find more information on these home models here.
