Where to celebrate NYE in Calgary and Airdrie

It’s hard to believe, but 2017 is coming to a close this weekend, and if you haven’t made plans to ring in the New Year yet, we’ve got you covered. Here’s some of the family-friendly celebrations happening in Calgary and Airdrie this weekend to help you welcome 2017:

AIRDRIE

  • New Year’s fireworks: the fireworks will be happening on December 31 at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park (800 East Lake Boulevard NE) at 6:30 pm. More information
  • Family-friendly NYE party: head to the Airdrie Festival of Lights (1701 Main Street South) heated tent on December 31 from 7 to 9pm, for family-friendly games, music and more. More information

CALGARY

  • City of Calgary NYE fireworks: head to Olympic Plaza (228 8 Avenue SE) at 8 pm on December 31 for a fireworks display put on by the City of Calgary. More information
  • Noon Year’s Eve: celebrate “noon year’s eve” at Telus Spark (220 St. George’s Drive NE) as 2018 rings in early at 11:45am on December 31. More information
  • Zoo Year’s Eve: opt out of traditional fireworks for Zoolights at the Calgary Zoo (210 St. George’s Drive NE) from 6 to 9 pm on December 31. More information
  • NYE family pool celebration: head to the Village Square Leisure Centre (2623 56 Street NE) for family swimming, games and more. Event is taking place December 31 from 3 to 6pm. More information
  • Calgary Flames game: the New Year’s Eve game will be taking place at the Saddledome, where Calgary takes on the Blackhawks at 7 pm. More information
