Where to get your wellness fix in 2018

If wellness is a top priority for you this year, the Calgary communities of Saddlestone and Sage Meadows have plenty of nearby recreation facilities. And if you live in an Airdrie community, like Bayview or Bayside, you are spoiled with fitness options too!

AIRDRIE

  • Chinook Winds Park: this park offers over 55 acres of parkland and recreation spots, including playgrounds, skate parks, amenities and even a spray park for the summer. For recreation purposes, the park has one boarded ice rink, multi-use court, toboggan hill, 4 volleyball courts, 8 baseball diamonds and basketball courts. The park is located at Chinook Winds Drive, south of Yankee Valley Boulevard.
  • Genesis Place: this full-service facility offers a full aquatics centre with pool, hot tub and sauna, dryland fitness, fitness centre, outdoor recreation amenities and more. It is located at 800 East Lake Boulevard NE and more information is available online.

CALGARY

  • Rocky Ridge YMCA: this brand new facility just opened this month, and it is largest YMCA facility in the world! Located at 11300 Rocky Ridge Road NW, this facility offers a number of amenities including pools, rinks, gyms, fitness centre, fitness studios, running track, basketball court and so much more.   • Genesis Centre: Genesis Centre is home to the Saddletowne YMCA, Calgary Public Library and several other community organizations who utilize the facilities, such as Calgary Sport and Social and several Calgary soccer leagues. In addition to the full complement of fitness, health and recreation services, the complex provides facilities for large cultural events and activities as well as urgently needed indoor and outdoor soccer fields. It also provides access to a range of human and social services. The centre is located at 7555 Falconridge Boulevard NE, right near the community of Saddlestone, which we are currently building in.
