The results of the 2015 Calgary census are in, and it turns out Calgarians are flocking to the northeast community of Saddle Ridge, one of the fastest-growing neighbourhoods in Calgary, with an increase of 1,219 residents in the past year alone.

For a bit of background on the census results, Calgary’s population grew to 1,230,915 residents (up 35,721 people). There were nine communities that welcomed 1,000 or more residents in the past year, all of which are Calgary suburbs: Evanston, Mahogany, Auburn Bay, Cranston, Copperfield, Saddle Ridge, Nolan Hill, Redstone and Skyview Ranch.

Saddle Ridge is a community on the northeast edge of the city, bordered by 96 Avenue and 68 Street. Right next door to Saddle Ridge is the master-planned community of Saddlestone, an environmentally-friendly, picturesque and tranquil neighbourhood convenient and close to everything you need. Filled with natural wonders to explore — from parks and ponds to playgrounds and biking paths — Saddlestone has everything Calgarians need for a full life. Designed for families, this community is vibrant yet peaceful, convenient yet charming.

It’s no surprise so many people are choosing this area to be home, with its close proximity to restaurants and stores in the Saddletowne shopping centre, the Calgary Public Library and extensive YMCA. Plus, this area is welcoming three brand new schools in 2016: elementary, middle and high schools.

Another benefit of living in Saddlestone, is the Genesis Centre, a full-service recreation and wellness facility that we are proud to share a name with. In addition to offering fitness, health and recreation services, the complex provides facilities for cultural events and indoor and outdoor soccer fields. It also provides access to a range of human and social services through 1000 Voices, a community and human services wing inside the facility.

A map with all the community amenities can be found online hereWhether estate home, starter or something between, there’s plenty of great homes to choose from in Saddlestone, and you can find out more about the Genesis homes available there online
